I'm a huge fan of the Shadow series. I also love any book in the endererse. I'm a huge fan of the ender's game series. However this book was a disappointing and to such a phenomenal series. I anticipated this book for years and was disappointed. You don't really know the origin of the virus. Orson explorers a world created from a different colony ship from Earth but wasn't known by anybody which doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Also the bad guy or I guess the bad people who live underground on that world which is the human population are not explored very much they're just an afterthought. It does explore the lives of Bean's kids and grandkids a little bit which is nice. I think beans grandkids became a little overpowered though because they've been able to learn how to instantaneously travel. I think Orson should have left the instantaneous travel to just Jane in my opinion. Just an overall disappointing end to the ender's game series/shadow series.
