The movie Jaws did and for me still remains one of the most dramatic movies of all time, possibly because of my passion of diving what I refer to as spear fishing over 60 years and I did encounter a number of large Sharks especially along the Victorian coastline.Whilst i had in the early days respect for the possible dangers for the sport ,my passion ,my youth especially in the 1960’s -70s I believe overcame any dangers, it was only when Jaws came out did I really question the true danger. The movie Shallows again brought back memories and I could relate to the story and the reality of the the girls predicament and her will to survive. I thought the move presented a realistic account of survival, the final sequence when the shark was killed was the downside,it actually for me spoilt the movie.Barry Allaway
