I hated this movie...mainly because I was looking for a connection between the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot and the 2021 Ghostbusters: Afterlife film that would segway into this film. I find it hard to believe that the writters were not creative enough to draw a clear connection. Additionally, the fact that NOT ONE of the lady Ghostbuster characters from the 2016 film was included....I'm side eying you because that was a dumb move. Then leaving out Sigourney Weaver, in my opinion, tells me that the director chose to ignore the viewers, who are also fans, like me who found the 2016 movie a good reboot and it could have really lead into many, many, many more movies. Notice that I say good not great. I'll explain in a moment. I also didn't like the fact that in this 2024 version 😐 that a young girl was in a New York City Park by herself at night playing chess and then an unknown out of no where flaming ghost girl appears. to play with her. Like where did she come from and why would she even come to a young girl in the park who was by herself. Then later she we find that she was grooming her to be taken over and possed by this male ghost being. I don't like that vibe at all. I also hate the fact that in this 2024 film the car is still old has hell and has absolutely no updates. Why? There was a scene where the car was possed and went into drive but it drove in reverse. Why? Again made no sense 😕. I hate what the demon character looked like ...it was giving HellBoy's Uncle ...the horns ripped out his head ..come on 🙄. I say all this to say...this 2024 film should not have left out the 2016 characters. When there is 3 of the original Ghostbusters charcter in the 2016 movie the fans know they an original Ghostbusters even if their characters are written differently. Nevertheless, you can't just IGNORE that movie. Again, there are things about the 2016 movie that could have been written a bit better with a bit more research of the original 80's films. However, I loved it..and still watch it to this day....over and over again. At the end of the 2016 movie there was a scene where Lisa Leslie's character ask about "Zul" that segwayed perfectly into Afterlife but again...not one of the ladies made it in Afterlife...not even a Cameo appearance. I can't say that I am eager to watch this 2024 film over and over again but if there is another one in the making I beg of you...make the timeline and storyline of these movies make sense.
