Went to watch the colour purple musical on 4 Jan 2023. I was disappointed on so many levels. I think the story is too dark to be a musical. This is undermining the history of the black African journey to black women emancipation and in a way traumatizing the new generation of the black community to convince us we can sing through our pain. It’s just a dark story to be turned into a musical.
