Have you ever wondered how to help students better understand disability experience? Or have you ever led disability awareness activities and wondered about the real impact?
This book is an exceptional guide for teachers and other school community members who plan to make inclusion a priority. The author of this book knows teachers well, (She is one!) and provides accessible and ready-to-use materials within the text.
When I was a student, I wanted to hide my disability; and sadly, that is still a reality for many students today. When schools move "beyond awareness" though, the potential for students to feel at home with all aspects of their identities is great. As a teacher educator, I will definitely share this book with the teachers I am honored to work with.
Many thanks to Diana Pastora Carson and all teachers who bring disability to conversations about diversity!
