So much to say but one thing i will say is this may be my favorite movie to come out this year, close to Deadpool 3. Ive been so hyped for this movie, and it didnt disappoint. These 1 star reviews are crazy. I love a bloody, gory slasher just as much as everyone else, even more actually, but this movie is not that. Its one of the best Psychological, edge of your seat thrillers ive ever seen. Its such an original idea, based off a bonkers real life event. What this film lacks in blood and kills, it makes up for with amazing acting from Josh Hartnett. Hes such a lovable actor and even here you almost want to root for the guy. Hes devious and also nice. He has control over his evils, only releasing in a way that wouldnt seperate him from the one thing he cares about. His family. The twists and turns in this movie werent as EXTREME as Shyamalans regular films, but thats a beauty of this film. Im a big fan of Shyamalan, I love most of his films (bar The Last Airbender) and this film is no exception. I PRAY theres a sequel where he escapes captivity once more. I hope to see Hartnett in more films, especially horror. He was the poster child of 2000s horror, hopefully this is the start of a comeback.
