I am surprised and disappointed in some aspects of the language , e.g. chapter 8 when Tuli’s brother tells her to count to “17”? Then later Tuli exclaims “ what the hell….” Would they use this language in the Neolithic? Perhaps in the Neolithic we would in reality not understand any attempts to communicate, but these modern expressions break the illusion that the reader is witnessing an authentic story.
