I found this to be a complete artistic masterpiece. You were taken on a journey and were able to sympathise with the pain experienced and really feel it deep within yourself. The actress was amazing at portraying the vulnerability of life and the pain that yourself and others can cause. The film looks back into a time where equality wasn’t expected and women were objects of desire and mainly objects of men, it’s touches on hard hitting facts, inequality mental health, abortion, sexual abuse, alcohol and drug abuse and many more. The play on colour/black and white throughout was thoughtful and engaging, alongside the sound track which really pulled you in and enabled you to feel with the character in that moment. If you enjoy films that explore mental health, past society, mistreatment of women, life, love and gaining an understanding into how life can affect people this is one for you. It follows the journey of her life and really made you feel as a viewer. It is sad and painful and is filmed as though you are in a dream, a dream is one that is uncontrolled and this may be a representation of Marilyn Monroes life, dictated to by a world of men.
Brilliant acting and super cast. Well done!
