As I love sewing I enjoy the show, and love Esme and Patrick, but I found the contestants this year a little boring. So old fashioned, and a lack of fun and modernity. They were missing special talent, and inspiration. My fave was Matt. On the whole it felt stale, and they weren't very confident sewists. They projects were boring, the skill level was low and very uninspiring makes were produced. You could feel this from most of the sewing community. A higher skill set is needed as it is a competition and more challenging and inspiring projects. Good for beginners, as background TV and sewing nerds!! Does it give sewing a bad name, yes! Doesn't represent the modern sewing community or the new wave of Instagram sewists at all.
