The book “ You Are Not Here” Is about a teenage girl who has just lost her boyfriend, Brian. At the age of 17, his unknowingly defected heart gave out on him. Now Annaleah is trapped in grief and has no one to share her pain with. No one who knows Brian even knows she exists. She stayed in her bed the whole time watching tv and not hanging out with family and friends after his death. She visited Brian’s grave every day and talked to him.
This was my favorite book of the year by far. You Are Not Here was impossible to put down. I wish I could read You Are Not Here again for the first time. You Are Not Here was fast-paced, engaging, and suspenseful. There were scenes and lines that made me sit there and cry. Or laugh. Or cheer. I was blown away by the author’s ability to write such phenomenal scenes. You Are Not Here forced me to feel the characters' emotions. You Are Not Here has ruined me for all other books! I'll be thinking about You Are Not Here for a long time to come. I would recommend You Are Not Here to anyone. Read You Are Not Here! I promise you’ll be hooked. The plot was cleverly woven, with each scene leading toward a larger goal. The conclusion answered all the questions the story asked and resolved the plot. It started and ended strong. The characters each played a vital role in You Are Not Here. I connected to these characters so deeply that I didn't want their story to end. I was totally invested in them throughout the entire book.
You Are Not Here kept me spellbound, and I was compelled to keep reading. Each scene flowed smoothly from one to the next. You Are Not Here provided a gripping glimpse of how the characters lived in this well-developed world, and the action was heart-pounding and effortless to visualize.I am blown away by the author’s ability to write such engaging, real-life, entertaining, phenomenal scenes. The writing style was consistent and used precise words so that exposition didn't slow the pace. There were no typographical and grammar errors that I remember, and the cover design and page layout were beautiful. What I liked about this book is that it gave me mixed emotions of happiness and sadness. It made me feel like Annaleah was actually talking to me about her feelings and all the problems that were happening, although in the book, she didn’t tell her friends or mother about how she was feeling. I also liked how it’s not text-heavy but there are a lot of pages with suspense every time an event happens.
