Was a decent watch and the political statement they were making came across very clear but over all It was a let down. I do not understand why every single white person in this movie were horrible! Like EVERY SINGLE ONE!! And the gay couple were very stereotypical gays… as a white gay person I feel very let down by this movie! I am very pro BLM ✊🏾 but at the end of the day this movie just made a it seem like white people are terrible racists! And why when Anthony’s hand was getting all infected why did he not go to hospital sooner or why did no one else say anything about it… just seemed to be rushed and feels like they left parts out! I feel like it should of been the original candyman through out the film not this random new candyman with near enough the same story as the original… I do appreciate they brought the original back for the 2 second cameo right at the end but definitely a let down for me… but again I do understand what they were trying to do but I feel they went to far!! If this movie was made the other way around it would be labeled racist and people would be outraged how black people were perceived… this was definitely a fail for this director!! I love and grew up with the candyman franchise but this a huge slap in the face to every movie that came before it! Will not be recommending it to anyone…
