I was disappointed and bored with this film mainly because I think it was misscast and poorly directed . Taylor Hackford would have trimmed the fat and given this film the cohesiveness and polish it deserved. The musical performances were just not impressive, Hudson can sing but she does not embody Aretha Franklin. The queen of soul was treated with no R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
