Wow, does this show DRAG! After an interesting opening, episodes 3 through 9 had enough plot for maybe one hour. If you want to spend a lot of time watching characters that you don't care about acting stupidly and having emotional breakdowns, then this is the show for you. There must have been a full hour of the two Malik kids, every time they needed to hide and be quiet, instead running amok and screaming "Mommy, Mommy! Daddy, Daddy!" Far too many scenes are so dark that you can barely see what is going on. I kept it on because I thought that eventually there would be some explanation of events, but I'm not even interested in watching the final episode. Apple, why you are spending blockbuster money on B movies padded out to five hours?

This is just plain bad. Pretentious pseudoscience and unlikeable characters. Hey, let's give undergraduates the tools to re-engineer the human genome, turn them loose and see what happens! What could possibly go wrong?

I only watched 15 minutes of this, and it made me squirm. Adam Sandler plays a character who has a speech impediment and is intellectually or developmentally disabled, who acts inappropriately in social situations, and has been the butt of pranks, insults and assaults from both adults and children for decades. Why this is supposed to be funny I cannot understand; I just found it creepy.

Twice now I've set out to watch this series, and I find it just unwatchable. Do any of the writers have children, and know what is normal behavior for a second grader? Dion's mother in the very beginning makes an issue about Dion being the youngest second grader because he's so smart, then he steadily acts like an intellectually challenged 4 year old with zero impulse control. And too many aspects of the show just don't add up. Mom's job dumped her for chronic lateness like a fast food place might, but they have what appears to be an upscale lifestyle. In the middle of inexplicable weirdness, water spirits show up at the lake house and warn them to leave, and what does Mom do but get herself some more wine and stay the night. If there was the slightest semblance of realism in this show, it would be very short - "Kid started displaying superpowers, kid and mom acted like idiots, both were dead in three days."

I wanted to like this, but overall it just wasn't very good. Aside from the obvious anachronisms that put me off (references to Burma Shave in the 1880s and many more), just too many people died at the hands of the villains without any attempt to fight back. Really, the plot is about a crew of initially 32 bad guys who ride around killing most people they meet, up to and including entire towns. So when these guys show up, what should you do? Start shooting right away, that's what. Why does town after town, person after person have long meaningless interactions with the bad guys before the bad guys just kill them all?
