This is a well told story of a college love affair rekindled after years apart. But it’s an unequal relationship: a divorced woman, a still married man, although it is he who is propelling the affair forward. The story is fraught with the moral, social and legal implications of their relationship. It is a difficult read in some respects because the story involves the reader emotionally.

I loved The Frozen River. It was dense with information woven into interesting stories, plot and characters. Set mostly in 1789, it portrays the lives and limits of living in that time. It was a rich book and very satisfying. The Author’s Note at the end is not to be missed.

This was a fascinating read. Lincoln comes to life in the stories of others. It's primarily about Lincoln’s maturation from a young, rough, unsophisticated country boy into a powerful presence in other people’s lives. All three main characters are fascinating. It made me want to know more about each, to compare stories and vignettes told here with recognized biographies of these historical figures.

This was an interesting story, touching on so many real people and events at that time in history. The author rounds out the personalities of several members of the Kennedy family and portrays Jack as severely compromised prior to his diagnosis of Addison’s disease. He is well educated, rich, sophisticated, and likable. He prevails on connections, charm and wit.

It’s a mapcap story with very diverse and engaging characters. At its heart it is about the power of friendship. Ms Moyes is not a gray writer, but she is a great story teller.
