With this album i think Rick made the follow up to his great '50' album.Where 'beautifull life' fell short in therms of durability 'the songs were way to light and simple' 'are we there yet' deliveres a couple of great soulful and well produced tracks that breathe a sense of motown and nashville soul. The vocals are also in a better suiting zone making him sound very strong and soulfull, with the exeption of 2 songs (dippin my feet& letting go) i like them from solid (never gonna, high enough, close, forever and more ) to great (maria love, golden hour, high enough) this is a confirmation to me that Rick should sing more in that style being soul, americana even blues and jazz rather than too buble gum poppy (beautiful life) and gives his 2nd carreer another good album.
