Very good film. Matt Damon will surely receive Oscar consideration. I’m a little surprised by all the negative reviews because I found the film entertaining. No, it’s not an action thriller so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll be disappointed. But the acting is terrific and the story is engaging.

MNS has made some terrific films in the past … but this isn’t one of them. I was disappointed at every level — plot, dialogue, character development and the “scare” facture were all subpar. I gave the film two stars because I’ve enjoyed some of his earlier work and because I can never give any film set on a beach less than 2 stars.
