Honestly, no Star Wars movie or show will ever live up to the fans expectations. Lucas has set up a very detailed and expansive universe that truly can't be topped. Anyone who tries to recreate or take their own creative approach will be met with criticism from the fan base because it is different from what they want/expect. If Star Wars is to survive with new content and continue to be around for future generations, then everyone must be open to the new ideas, as crazy, far out, or lame as they may be. That being said, Star Wars has so much information already out there to pull from Legends, that any new production should in some way tie back to its roots. The What If Star Wars stories were a great way of telling new perspectives of the original tale that was acceptable without hurting the continuity. I truly hope all fans of Star Wars, new and old, will come together regardless of the differences, changes, or issues to keep the joys of Star Wars around for generations to come.
To the future creators of Star Wars, I do not put you down or promote hate of what you do. My only request is this. Please remember the history of Star Wars and continue to bring the tales to life.
As for The Acolyte, the show is still in its infancy stage. All the depth, details, and story will continue to emerge as more episodes come out. Shows take longer to get going then Movies and that's often a good thing because it allows them to give us more over the long term vs trying to cram it all in over the short term. I'm personally enjoying the show as I am taking it one week at a time and not judging it by every thing that isn't Lucas written, and I am looking forward to seeing where they are going with this.
