Honestly, I don’t know what everybody’s problem with this series is. It’s very well-made for a TV series. It doesn’t feel overly “woke”, or poorly written as some of the other commentators have said. I feel like it’s engaging, entertaining to watch, the actors are decent, and I look forward to each new episode. I don’t know if this is a bandwagon thing, where everybody feels like they have to agree with the criticism. I don’t know if it’s because we just live in a ridiculously critical culture, but how about we just try relaxing, not overthinking, and enjoying something for pure entertainment value instead of finding reasons to hate it. There are minor details that I miss that were present in the movies, like the “otherworldly-ness” of the elves, but the more I watch this series the more I think it may be a part of the storyline. This series is way better than 90% of what is on TV these days. Get off the band wagon and enjoy the show. I give it five stars because in the context of what it is, a made for TV series, it is top notch.
