I watched this particular movie around 2013 or 2014(can't really placed the date), but I have not stopped talking about it since then. My Dad does not watch anything outside Nollywood and Hollywood (especially Yoruba and American action movies), I am a proud Nigerian and from the Yoruba tribe. Anyways, my Dad watched this particular movie with the whole family on DVD and he got so immersed with the movie that he said Choi Jin Hyuk(Gu Wol-ryung)( was more handsome than Michael Jackson (may his soul rest in peace). The plot was fantastic, as at then I did not see much of it though, it has always been the past and present life thing or the monster or ghost thing, but this was different, talking about how people react to situation in different ways, that can been seen from Suzy bae finding out who Kang chi is and the other lady.
It depict the power of believing in one's strength and will and how to not depend on your ability or powers alone but how to train one's mind and that's what God expect his children to be, to be able to stand strong and to be able to weather the storm with his help and fly above it just as an eagle.
The story is a fantastic one, and I would have love if they didn't add the tragedy to it, everything can not end badly, most times despite the hardship, the end is always good. The editing wasn't bad either, the makeup too was good for that period and the chemistry of lee Seung Gi and Suzy bae is just great , you can see that in vagabond (can't wait for another season).
In all, wonderful story and the female character given strength is even the best unlike the Korean stereotype.
I recommend this movie to anyone and watch it with your family, it teaches bonding and how to defends One's family and love from this wicked world even though it may look like you are at a disadvantage. Enjoy.
