It’s definitely in the “guilty pleasure” department. A typical B Grade Swords & Sandals movie from the 80s. It’s a lot of fun on rainy day, but there’s certainly no Oscar’s winning performances. If you like Conan or Red Sonja you’ll have a bit of fun watching.

I’m amazed about other people’s high marks for this. It’s well shot and beautifully produced but the story is ridiculous and the acting is very wooden. The “science” is ludicrous. Water somehow vanishing from the Earth (impossible, and if it did the Earth would have to be so hot all life would die). Space shuttles that go to the moon - space shuttles use all their fuel just getting to orbit, wings are useless on the moon anyway, you’d never go to the moon in a shuttle. Anyway the acting was so silly I gave up after that. If you want something that’s very pretty to look at with no substance, you’ll enjoy it.

Pretty bad overall, stereotypical “suburban dad is an ex-hit man” trope. Russian mobsters printed out on a xerox from 1990. I guess there’s some ok dark humour but it doesn’t work as well as Breaking Bad imo. If you like lots of senseless violence you’ve seen in a hundred other movies you’ll love it. I just feel it’s all been done before, and better.

I give this 2 stars. The production quality and effects are very well done. That’s about it. Like all the science fiction shows of the past ten years it purports to be realistic, but as usual is not. Astronauts spend years together training for missions and if there was any friction they would be pulled from the mission. The astronauts take take stupid, unnecessary risks. For example an astronaut doing a space walk would have 2 tethers at all times, would never remove them both, and would NEVER take risks or matters into there own hands without clearance from mission control. After watching two episodes, I came to the conclusion they should put the Indian astronaut in charge, as he’s the only one with a brain, the rest of them should be sent home before they get themselves killed.
