‘A tale of two cities’ is a remarkable novel by the OG Charles Dickens. Set in the time of the great upheaval of the French Revolution, Dickens dwells on the disposition of the society; the inhumane treatment of the poor, the victimisation of the masses, and the extravagance of the rich; phenomena that prevailed from the earliest specks of mankind; slowly poisoning the core of the society with vehemence of vengeance, retaliation and above all blood thrust; thereby leading to the extensive act of ferocious man slaughter. Turning the humblest of the priests into wild beasts; foremost amongst them the malicious women. Following the story of Lucie, a pure hearted french girl immigrant in England, we analyse the revival of her formally unjustly imprisoned father by the rekindling of the heart of him and everyone around her with nothing but her love and compassion, and her two lovers; one with whom her name attaches; the other rendering a service of rather a more profound nature, impacting generations to come . An unfortunate circumstance leads this family to the forlorn domain of France whence among the midest of the struggle for their existence in the red caped patriotic regime, we witness the enduring themes of resurrection, redemption, sacrifice, prejudice, delusions, and dilemma of human mind.
