Tthis is a useful tool. Some people criticize the work with claims like "It's impossible to be born with GD, (no self awareness at birth). So it can only be acquired via external influence". But if that were true, then masculinity and femininity (as opposed to male and female gender) are also learned behavior acquired via external influence. It's highly unlikely that baby boys without any male contact would all grow up feminine, or that baby girls without any female contact would all grow up masculine. In fact there is ample anecdotal evidence that this does not happen.
