I was a fan of Brent Butt's stand up routine prior to Corner Gas. However when the series airs it was a fresh take on Small town comedy Love the show as well as the animated version Canadian series are usually historical and this was a far more creative venture. Still enjoy it in reruns and hope it will be around for years to come.
