Okay. Well.
I started watching VLD around a year (??) ago. it was good for a couple of seasons. It then started declining in decency after the 5th or 6th season. Sure, the animation is great. But the plot is not. There are a lot of things they could have done differently, but didn't. Which ended with fans feeling like they were being queerbaited (which we were, you can't change my mind). Season 7 and season 8 really made me open my eyes. Not only did I realize that 1) We were being baited I also realized that, people are really homophobic. Like extremely. Let's start with season 7,they made Takashi Shirogane (Shiro) a cannon gay, made him have a fiance, made them argue, AND THEN resolutely killing Adam with the Kill Your Gays Trope. They also "killed" Ezor and Zethrid (who i mean, come on, you can't tell me they're NOT gay). And honestly I think it's, quite blatantly, very pathetic. And then there's season 8. The killer of the fandom. Which i would like to nickname "The Voltron fandom massacre". You've managed to have a pathetic excuse of romance, you also, managed to kill a beloved character, queer bait literally everyone, not bring the bad guy to justice, shaded two GREAT and LOVED characters, make your character out of character and finally have the most disappointing end in the history of ends.(By which I mean you made Shiro marry a random guy.) (Curtis was it???) Having a gay character and a HORRIBLE gay romance that spawned out of NOWHERE does NOT make up for queerbaiting people. Voltron: Legendary Defender (in my opinion) is one of the worst shows I have EVER watched. And I would not recommend wasting (approximately) 30.5 hours of your life watching it.
