The period clothing and vibe is wrong for the late 50s. Too contrived and fake; everything in the movie so predictable and weird…EVERY SINGLE PERSON including MOTHER, older siblings but nobody thought to save the little GIRL from an abusive father? 🤣 Even the last next oldest kid leaves alone instead of taking her with him or not reporting daddy to the sheriff or mosey people in town. The PO’ little white girl getting help from well-to-do Black family in 1950 in NC? 🤣🤣 Just DUMB DUMB storyline, writing and horrid direction…the whole thing was like an after school special to teach character. Too predictable.
