Not sure where to start. It was fiery, sexy and tantalizing the first couple of episodes. When the hunt for the King's heart was raging. Then I grew tired of the pretty male lead. Same vapid, stereotype and several episodes in he just sort of stands there with a forlorn look. The King is so out there that one would think it was actually set in the most depraved era of Rome. He couldn't have been real with the way he was written. All around got VERY dry, and Moore carried the show.
I completely lost interested during episode 5. Also, the fact that NONE of the main "boys" were actually gay, even going so far as to make them show disdain for what they were "forced" to do was sickening. This is not an lgtbq show IMO.
The gay interactions were depicted as being impulsive, depraved, hollow and to some participants simply a chore. Retreating into the bosom of a loose female seemed to be the only thing to save these poor whorish men.
I say try it out but don't expect anything much.
