I watched the original one and liked it very much. I watched the new one and, well, the jury's still out. Its hard to give recreated shows and movies a chance because we become attached to the original characters. We compare new characters to our "beloved" originals and the recreation has little chance if we are not objective about grading it on its own merits. The one big issue I have with it, and this goes along with other shows as well, is the "in your face" gay element. I'm not anti-gay, but considering that they are less than 5% of the population of the US, why do producers feel it necessary to jamb this lifestyle down the throats of more than 95% of the heterosexual viewers?
