I heard about the movie from a podcast I listen to. I think there are many mysteries in the bible and room for thought and digging deep. This movie is brilliant in demonstrating just how evil man can be and how an incorrect interpretation can change your and others' lives.
I think it captured the heart of how evil the world must have been and how Noah, although loyal to God, kept himself apart from the rest of the world.
There are so many gaps in the bible. A story that spans years is told in a paragraph.
So what happened during all of that time? We are left with hints and small pathways to help us find the nuggets that lead to wisdom and understanding.
A brilliant movie that shows how our evilness affects everyone.
I believe the Bible is more than the stories. We are meant to ask questions and dig for deeper truth and interpretation.
For the people who gave this a 1 star because it did not follow the biblical script, would perhaps be devasted to hear that 'the story of Noah' was told within the Mesopotamian culture and was called the Epic of Gilgamesh, many, years before our Noah was scripted.
It has many similarities to the flood story about a hero who must build a boat to save himself, his family and the animals from the flood. A troubling narrative for sure and a big question. Did the flood really happen, and was Noah a retelling of this story? Does it really matter? God does not need us to defend him or the bible. But he does need us to pay attention to our lives and the evil we can become, should we allow our pride and greed to run our lives.
