Loved this film when I first watched it roughly 15 years ago. Amazing story I have yet to read the book, just lacking some substance and more detail. I think it's a really good story and also very tragic but this could do with a reboot!

The negative reviews I find baffling. The first 20 minutes of her childhood had me balling in tears, this kinda trauma sets someone up for the rest of their life and their self respect which I can see clearly had a strong influence in her adulthood. Just because someone appears influencal in their career doesn't necessarily make them tough and thick skinned (and that's fine) . Her daddy issues and abuse as well as mysogony I Hollywood would have made her feel so objectified and weak when it came to powerful men taking advantage of a young beautiful woman. To anyone rating this movie low thinking it is bringing this woman down, in my opinion you're not seeing the psychological deep rooted trauma this poor woman had to endeavour. You may have witnessed her in the silverscreen and how glamorous and influential she was, but like many strong well moralled personalities she had to deal with the abuse from tabloid promoting mysogony and objectifying her On a daily basic til her death. This may be dark and not an easy going watch but it's reality, and people need to realise this sh**still goes on to this day
