Ugh - what a disappointment! The director chose to make a Marvel spectacle and lost the subtle and intricate interplay of the novel. I was looking forward to something great and came away very very disappointed. And - by the way - being loud is not the best way to get a point across. Sometimes, being quiet does a much better job.
I understand that it is expensive to turn books into movies - but maybe the cost to the integrity of the book is too high if so many compromises have to be made. I will continue to read and reread the first 3 Dune books and keep the beautiful and meaningful pictures in my mind instead of seeing ridiculous movies.
Please - if there is going to be a second part let another director do it. I will not go see this marvelous book be turdened into a cartoon any further.
