Pearl Granat

This book is enlightening. Airplanes seen from a city of stone by a young boy make the history of Albania during the Second World War come alive. This writer is not very well-known in the U.S. but should be. This is a very well-written coming-of-age story that captures the essence of a country, Albania, that we don't know enough about.
