This is truly a great movie! Coming from a fan of the entire franchise. Yes, it's a massive amount of fan service, but no one complains when the MCU does it. 😒 As fans of a franchise who wants to see it get better if the plan is to churn more of these out, this is a great "requel". You can tell everyone who was involved in the making of this film loves horror and better yet they love Wes. A movie for fans made by fans. Studios, take note! If you want your fanbase to keep coming back, listen to the fans! Give us what we want damnit! Research, proper casting, heart stopping moments, callback, flashbacks, give us all of it!!! Get directors and producers who actually love what they do! And something I see no one talking about is how they were able to make Ghostface scarey again. The last time I was scared of Ghostface was when the original Scream when he killed Casey. Everytime I saw Ghostface in this movie, I was scared. I didn't know what he was going to do. The kills were gut wrenching and he just seemed more menacing. There is one particular scene with Sheriff Judy and her son that just sent me a whirlwind of emotions. Masterfully done. All of the references to other films and the self awareness and metaness. I am sorry, but I ate it up! The kids need to study this film! This is how to do horror satire in a respectful and smart way. I could go on and on. Everybody just go see it!
