Sarfira: A Dizzying Downfall starring Akshay Kumar is a baffling disaster from start to finish.
The plot, if one can call it that, is a chaotic mishmash of poorly executed action sequences and cringe-worthy dialogue. Kumar, usually known for his charismatic screen presence, seems utterly uninterested, delivering a wooden performance that lacks any semblance of depth or emotion. The supporting cast fares no better, with their characters either being painfully one-dimensional or absurdly exaggerated.
The direction is sloppy, with scenes jumping from one to another without any coherent flow. The cinematography and special effects are equally atrocious, making the film look more like a low-budget parody than a big-budget Bollywood production.
The soundtrack is forgettable at best and grating at worst, doing nothing to salvage the sinking ship that is this film. In the end, Sarfira is an exasperating ordeal that tests the patience of even the most die-hard Akshay Kumar fans. Save yourself the trouble and give this one a wide berth.
