I enjoyed both Bridgerton series but preferred the first one of the two. This one tops them all. More mature issues, beautifully complex characters, women grappling with decisions over which they sometimes had no control-it was magnificent!
India and Corey were both wonderful, as were all the actors in the series. Everyone was excellent! The things you'll do for love. Real love. Corey's subjecting himself to all manner of torture to be with the woman he loved. India, young, alone and in love with a man that will not allow her to be close or let her know about his struggle. Her refusal to give up on love; to force that: DO you love me?" conversation was heart wrenching.
Brimsley and Reynolds relationship was absolutely brilliantly played, and Lady Danbury as played by Arsema Thomas was amazing. Their back stories tied into and filled in blanks that I hope will result in a second series. I've watched it 3 times now and it keeps getting better! Even Princess Agusta's motives were understandable. Her acknowledgement that Charlotte made George happy and thanking her for it, broke my heart as a mother. She had been George's protector since his father died. She seemed to exhale for the first time in the series. She understood Charlotte was up for the challenge and that she had George's back. You and Me.
And the writing.... well, if you haven't seen it please do. It's a beautifully told, very touching love story. Something the world could use a little more of.
