It was hard to suspend disbelief throughout this film. That being said, I liked the characters. The movie is really about love in all its forms--a love for our older family members, for our children, for lovers and for friends, and what we'd risk or do to safeguard our loved ones. I forgave the ridiculous panoramic scenes of a Ferris wheel looking like it's gone through WWIII, (got to get in that apocalypse feel, right?) Harder to forgive was the fact all these homes have these infrared decontamination machines. And then there is how bad the bad guys are and how good the good guys are -- save for the Demi Moore character who I felt was well rounded, less stereotyped. One thumbs up for how the characters' stories intersect. The movie ends on a hopeful note, a bit 'Disneyish.' The acting was good. But I wish the little girl in the movie had been given more lines-- she's a star in the making.
