(Spoiler warning for the movie and book up ahead) This movie when I had seen it at first was just another one of spielburg’s magic movies having every one of my dreams come true put into a movie, but about a year later I had finally read the book and realized that my life was a lie. this movie is an embarrassment to the amazing book by Earnest Cline and any true ready player one fan would most definitely agree, all of the characters are completely different in the movie weather that goes from how they look in both the real world and the oasis or how they are depicted in the movie, like for instance; Parsifal aka wade in the movie is depicted as some rich gunter in the movie who owns his own delorian from “back to the future” (part two to be specific) while in the book he is dirt poor and can barely afford to EVEN TRAVEL TO ANOTHER WORLD. He is trapped at school before he even stumbles upon the first key, another difference would be how Art3mis in the book is depicted to look the same as Samantha in the real world just without the birth mark and is depicted as “raven haired and beautiful”, and yet in the movie not only does she not have raven hair but her avatar looks like an avatar FROM THE MOVIE AVATAR. This movie also completely Butchered the joy and thrill of finding the keys or when Parzival is partaking in any of the gates. I could complain about this movie for an eternity but this sums up my fury over this movie thereby causing my 1 star!
