I didn’t know what to expect as I didn’t watch the trailer beforehand. The storytelling, running motifs, acting, and setting were all beautiful and had the impact that I believe they wanted to have. The recurring colors of red and yellow weren’t lost on me and helped support the overarching narrative. The story was extremely poignant and it just showed how powerful the act of forgetting and recalling/remembering is. Not only as an individual surviving interpersonal abuse but as a collective as a community as a nation suffering from amnesia. What would happen if we all remembered and felt the sharpness of this moment to be urged to action! This movie impacted me deeply and a movie has not done that in a while so thank you for making this film and I’m excited to see more from minds like Zoe Kravitz and actors like Channing Tatum and Naomi Ackie.

There was much potential in this show to expand the Star Wars universe. It’s still not clear why the show was canceled unless the franchise is paying heed to wh*te supremacists over popular opinion. This show brought in a ton of interest and new Star Wars fan. It was telling a different type of story that was refreshing. I was hoping to continue exploring this world. As a long time Star Wars fan their decision to not renew is disappointing and a sign of the times. In the era of Trump and the rise of fascism it’s not surprising that the stories we are allowed to tell and witness are limited to the colonizers imagination and comfortability. I will never watch another Star Wars movie or show or off broadway show or whatever stupidity they come up with next. I truly hope better people are allowed to tell better stories outside of this silly little franchise.

I love bad horror movies but this one was insulting. The plot made no sense and the world building was weak. How did the white girl defeat the evil witch if she had already read her own fate? It’s also not clear how the white girl (an amateur tarot card reader) verbatim dictated each of her friends death. There are glaring plot holes and yet the movie kinda just trudges along to hurl itself towards the ending. The point of bringing the old lady in seemed lost as she died pretty soon after she was introduced and didn’t help move the plot along at all. The friends’ deaths were also oddly paced like the first one they were super sad about but then they just started dropping like flies and it wasn’t a big deal other than the white girl having a nervous breakdown every time lol. The lines were so bad and lackluster. Yikes.
