I haven’t had this much fun at a matinee since Star Wars, and I hope it meets with the same success. The casting of Shazam and Billy was absolutely perfect. Zach Levi and Asher Angel were brilliant (and lucky). Fortunately, David Sandburg was in on (and a good part of) the fun. My only quibble was the carnival sequence when the kids turn into superheroes. It was trite and silly, and this lovely film deserved better from the writers, and obviously, the producer who argued for it. But a huge BRAVO for this fun film, and I can’t wait for the next one. Good to be a kid again.
