Refreshing at least during first half or two third of the movie. Later on the story seems lost. Acting wise Vijay Verma seems the most natural. Shefali Shah and Alia Bhatt have also iked out super performances but are left to fend for themselves in second half where writing seems too predetermined, unimaginative and lacking depth in understanding of abusive relationships. Few scenes will linger with you after watching the movie beacuse of their intensity especially the one where Vijay comes home and Alia is hiding inside the bathroom. At times it may feel as if the director is trying to widen his canvas by allowing space for the 'community' in the movie but later on you understand that it might have been a minor digression rather than any real attempt. The writer also seems confused about the portrayal of the 'Zulfi' character. Overall the movie should be watched for some great performances but it could have been much better if not for the weak and lazy writing.

Amir Khan has been mistakenly led to feel that he is a much finer actor, best among khans when it comes to acting and definitely superior than most of his contemporaries. However, even from the trailer of the movie it would become obvious that he has same facial expression - the one where he has an awkward smile on his face with his eyes wide open. He has been carrying the same expression since 3 idiots and it has now become so irritating to watch. The movie is terrible to watch, more so if you have already seen Forest Gump. Amir clearly lacks the depth to portray his character with honesty. Despite more than two and a half hour of screen presence you don't feel connected with Amir's character.
