I have been playing video games since the early 1970’s . FPS are my go to games followed by a few select RPG’s . I have been playing Starfield this weekend and want to share my thoughts about it . Initially and after all of the hype you may feel this is more 6/7 out of 10 rather than 10 out of 10 . My score is 10 out of 10 a year or less from now . I can see a very expansive, deep and immersive foundation that is perfectly playable now but will grow as the months pass by and DLC , tweaks and with player discovery, learning, imagination and commitment will rise to a solid 10 . Do not let this become another “ Prey “ a fantastic game for those FPS players who want an immersive and exciting experience as opposed to a full on shooter. Prey is not quite up with the early Half Life and System Shock ( No 1 ) but is I think the best game of its type for the last 20 years, Starfield seems to have been designed with the future in mind in the way it can evolve and retain players for many years to come . I will be one of those players . As a footnote my Number 1 game of all time is the original first “ Doom “ .
