it is a fantasy kind of story. It is set in Texas and in a place like the Outback in Australia. the layers of the story peal away bit by bit and the layers roll into the next scene naturally.
This review is built on the fact that I saw this accidentally on TV as I was busy with an ordinary chore. The movie got a hold of me and I did not want it to end. and that review is from my viewing it more than thirty years ago.
