The cast is impeccable. The directing superb. This movie was and remains a theatrical triumph. The music only adds superb qualities to enhance characters (esp. Jesus), the climate, and tensions throughout the movie. Heston is phenomenal as Ben Hur. Heston is so well cast in this role making an even a greater performance under the tutelage of the director I would assume. I watch it annually when I am able. Fabulous movie even in the 21st Century.
