I have never watched her on YouTube (although I was aware of her channel), so I cannot speak to her typical content or personality. The first episode was very one-note. Why was there so much focus on race, sexuality and gender? Yikes— that was awkward and just not funny. What is wrong with presenting yourself as you are and letting that speak for itself? Is THIS really who she is and what she wants to be known for? It was honestly borderline offensive. It is obvious she is not a straight, white male. She doesn’t have to remind us every 5 minutes. I was excited to see some diversity and support her, but sadly her “comedy” was a turn-off. Most late night shows are lighthearted, fun, entertaining and make me smile. This just made me cringe.
