I am not good at writing reviews but I am absolutely in love. I finished this book in about 8 days and I couldn't put it down. I love the characters and how the mistakes they made not only affect them but others as well. Some people say that the characters don't really have any human emotion and if they do, it is short lived, but as I was reading, I could still feel the emotion. Honestly I added emotion to them, I imagined the emotion that I would feel in that situation and put it into them, if that makes sense. I think that's the point of an epic fantasy, to put yourself in there and see everything, play everything. It requires you to think about the emotions and the situations going on around the characters.
And then there is how it is written. I do admit that it took me a minute to get used to the way it was written, there was just something about it that I had never seen before but once I got used to it, it was easy to understand.
The story was amazing, how all the characters didn't know that they are connected until the very end. That always gets me. I love that there are mistakes made and that characters who don't really know what they are doing are the most important ones, such as Truyde and Sulyard. They weren't very smart according to their time, yet they knew what was coming. To me, that says don't underestimate someone and listen when they are trying to tell you something. All people want to do is help yet they are selfish.
All in all, I just love this book and I could talk about it for days, but I don't want to spoil any more of it. I am not good at reviews nor am I good at writing, clearly, because I am sure this review makes no sense. I think that it is definitely worth the read, and the reread, and the read after that. It is just a pure masterpiece in my eyes.
