Wilder Girls had me on the edge of my seat. The more I read the harder it was to put down. These girls at Raxter are built different. Wilder Girls doesn't shy away from portraying women and girls as feral trying to survive day to day looking out for each other but also the selfish side that comes with surviving an epidemic which disfigures and flat out ends the lives of those who can't handle the Tox. Hetty, Byatt, and Reese's friendship is tearjerking. We watch all of the girls at Raxter School struggle to survive on Raxter Island while attempting to hold onto some semblance of normalcy as nature and their own bodies become corrupted. It's a wild ride from start to finish and Rory Power doesn't shy away from depicting some vivid scenes of gore. If you like horror/ thriller novels I highly recommend Wilder Girls.
