The whole animation embodies the theme which is the raw, untamed behavior of the wild. Bringing us to how the earth and humanity responded based on instint and not on whether an action was good or bad. But I believe Tartakovsky tries to bring in the knowledge of what we have today, like forgiveness and Enduring our most hated Foes, which isn't something that could have thrived in the prehistoric Era.
