My father was in the Army 1946-1948, stationed in the British Sector in Vienna.
He talked lots to me of the Black Market dealings going on, the tense situation between the British and Russian sectors, and the poverty and ruin in Vienna.
This film encapsulates everything he told me. Great, atmospheric, film.
