You have to understand Ari to love this album. It's a continuation for her life, her experiences and yes, amazing sex life. For critics that don't enjoy the album or believe it's all that good I have a rebuttal. You're right, there aren't super massive pop bangers on here , but I don't think that was the point. The point is to relax and have fun with this album. It's mostly slow but you can still dance to it. At first listen it does't seem pop experimental as sweetener and it's not as healing as Thank U Next. It doesn't need to be. People will hopefully love this album as it's own work of art, and a new side to Ariana's work and vocal range. She doesn't need to be belting or doing crazy vocal run for us to love her (Yet she does show off some great notes in this album). Positions gets better every time you listen it and a new flavor all on its own.
Critics may give this a 3/5 over all but the fans are in LOVE! That's what really matters, right?
