Lan Daly – Google

It wasn’t the most monstrous film in the world but it may be very disappointing for big Indiana Jones fans. For a film so long its climax was very lacklustre and there wasn’t payoff from the whole adventure so I just sat there thinking what was the whole point of that. I felt empty leaving the cinema like they forgot to show me a part of the movie. They fiddled with time travel which they didn’t work with well. I’m no die hard Indiana Jones fan but I think they need to stray off really sci if concepts like aliens ( in Indiana Jones 4 ) and time travel because I just don’t think it suits. The new introduced characters were iffy to me, they had some charm but then they also irritated me at parts. This is my all own opinion ofc so u can disagree or agree with me all u like :)

All Quite on the Western Front shows the tragedy and the brutality in war quite well but very different from the book. I have read the book before watching this and it’s quite different but more rather this Netflix adaptation was going for a different approach. I think this film wanted to leave a message which the book did not have, of how the soldiers lost due to the corrupt leaders. The director changed the timeline of the order of which the events took place and when it takes place for e.g the movie ends in November while the book ends in summer of 1918. The movie had great effects done for the landscape of the war and the brutality of the fighting. I think I would say it’s the highlight of the movie itself. In this movie we lose Paul’s thoughts insights into these young soldiers and without that we lose a massive part of the humanity of these young soldiers and sadly I feel like it doesn’t translate that well into the movie. We barely get to know the characters in the movie and the connections we had in the book with the characters are no longer there and so I feel slightly at a loss. Personally I recommend giving it a watch. I do prefer the book but the movie is nonetheless still good.
