The dialogue and plot line in this book are so clunky. I realize the author is trying to capture the perspective of characters who “don’t fit in” with the cultures in which they live, but it feels all disjointed as a reader. Their words and actions are just unrelatable, awkward and boring. I ended up skimming it after about 100 pages to see what happens in the end but it was disappointing all in all. I started out with high hopes.
